FireCrest SAM

Fariista's FireCrest Indoor Service Access Module, model SAM-0804P, is capable of multiplexing and switching up to 8 independent balanced-E1 ports and four Fast Ethernet ports with full priority given to E1 traffic. In addition, the Ethernet ports can automatically detect, classify, and simultaneously provide power to four POE enabled devices such as wireless radio systems.

The SAM-0804P provides a simple, elegant and cost-effective Converged Access Network (CAN) solution enabling operators to converge their ever-increasing range of voice and data services into a single future-proof architecture.

Traffic from all ports is multiplexed, switched and trunked onto four Ethernet ports which may be configured in redundancy backup mode. Unused capacity from all ports is dynamically re-allocated to optimize system throughput while IEEE 802.3x based flow control along with ingress/egress data rate limits maintain full traffic priority to E1 traffic. Per E1 port programmable latency control allow the operator to maximize the Quality of Service by compensating for downstream network delays.

Growth in network capacity and additional E1 port requirements can be easily and cost-effectively accommodated by cascading multiple service modules together over the same back-haul connections without replacing existing installed equipment or interrupting customer service.
